Kalrissian Cooper grew up in the DMV area and started playing trombone in seventh grade. He played in the D.C. Youth Orchestra, Raleigh, NC Civic Orchestra, Johns Hopkins Orchestra, Ellicott City Trombone Choir the 389th Army band in Maryland and the 3rd Infantry Division band in Georgia during his six years of military service.
